DVD usage free; still tied to beta key?

DVD usage free; still tied to beta key?

The MakeMKV.com homepage says that DVD usage is free, but the program won't load when the beta key is expired. Is this the intended behavior?

Or, better yet......to stop having to update your beta key every few months just buy a permanent one...
