Coolead USB blu ray drive

I purchased a Coolead Blu Ray drive from amazon. I'm running Windows 7. Windows sees the drive and it works fine with DVDFab. MakeMKV won't recognize the drive (doesn't show up in the list of drives in MakeMKV). Any ideas? Thanks

The first question is whether or not you're running MakeMKV as an adminstrator?

As I understand things, MakeMKV asks the operating system to enumerate optical drives. From that list, it starts making queries to see what they contain. If Windows doesn't respond with the list, or a drive isn't included in that list, MakeMKV doesn't look at it.

Thanks. I tried running as admin with the same results. As best as I can tell, Windows recognizes the drive as optical.

Maybe Mike can come up with a reason why Windows would not list the drive as optical when asked, but I've run out of ideas.
