Hunger Games - Catching Fire

#1 Post by sandking » Wed Jan 20, 2016 5:19 pm

I've read numerous posts/threads about this and the security Lionsgate seems to put on these hunger game movies. I have the retail BR,dvd and Digital version of the disks and can't seem to get MKV to save a copy. I also downloaded AnyDVD to try and get the correct source file name which says 00778.mpls as others have previously posted.

That being said I feel like I have the correct version but it keeps failing at the end. Is there anything I am doing wrong? This is very frustrating, i want these movies on my media server.

Play list discussion for Catching Fire: http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7661

"Failing" as in error messages? Enable debug logging (link in my signature) and post the log here. We can only guess at what is going on from your description so far.

Thanks Woodstock. I've read that thread and many others from this forum and other forums. I am retrying now and will post the log file. Where can I find the log file once it fails? Is it the information located a the bottom section of MakeMKV?

Yes, that's the log, and it says your drive is having a problem reading the disk in places.

Have you cleaned the disk? Fingerprints can cause these issues. Scratches, too.

I will check that out next. Ugh really something that simple lol. I tried burning an ISO with AnyDVDHd to see if I could use MakeMKV on the ISO but halfway through I got a bad sector message:

Error reading from drive D:!
Sectors: 12174848-12174879

Ok I completely give up on these Hunger Game movies. Still get the same problem after cleaning the disk. Decided to try the first Hunger Games movie. AnyDVD said version 665 was the right one. Ran MakeMKV and it skipps 665 because it says it's the same as version 76. So I burn an ISO of the disk and try and use MakeMKV on version 76 of the ISO. Still fails.

What the heck am I doing wrong here? This is ridiculous that these studios don't allow you to backup your own movies.
