Handbrake and backed up BD disks?

#1 Post by RonJohn » Sat Jan 02, 2016 1:31 am

Hi,

After I've backed up a BD full of TV show episodes, I want to use Handbrake to transcode them into something smaller. With DVDs, I simply point it to the directory that holds the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, tell it to transcode track #3 into the output file "Gilligan's Island S2x03 The Little Dictator.mkv" and it successfully does it's thing.

However, I haven't been able to find a directory that HandBrake is happy with. Does anyone know, or will have have to go to the handbrake fora?

Thanks.

Yes, you'd have to ask on the handbrake forum.

It seems that HB thinks that the bdmv files are corrupt.

Code: Select all

[mp3 @ 0x7f0c6c017200] Header missing
[mp3 @ 0x7f0c6c017200] Header missing

[12:02:51] hb_stream_open: open /Data/ron/rip_staging/LOTR_FOTR-decrypted/BDMV/MovieObject.bdmv failed
[12:02:51] batch: scanning /Data/ron/rip_staging/LOTR_FOTR-decrypted/BDMV/index.bdmv
[12:02:51] hb_stream_open: open /Data/ron/rip_staging/LOTR_FOTR-decrypted/BDMV/index.bdmv failed
[12:02:51] libhb: scan thread found 0 valid title(s)
Time for some debugging...

What did you end up finding?

I have a disk here that MakeMKV fails to convert 3 titles on (9 others are fine), but a backup worked just fine, so I'm waiting for Mike to look things over. In the mean time, I pointed handbrake at the top folder of the backup, and it found (depending upon the HB version) 23-42 titles.
