First BD to fail for me Jupiter Ascending

Post by samplep »

Hi Guys, After a stellar record from MakeMKV on processing my library, this Christmas I got a BD that won't process. The "rip" turns into a good MKV file, which displays correctly, but the sound cuts in and out. When I try to use VLC to play the disk directly, I get complaints about no AACS support. I'm not sure that the two things are related, but trying to give you all the input that I see. Any suggestions other than asking Amazon for a replacement?

Please turn on debug logging, rip it again, and post the log in a reply here. We need to see what is going on.

Oops. I finally read your "How to Aid" document and tried to send the requested additional BD files per your request, but I have reached some "board attachment" limit for 116KB. Suggestions?

Only the log is of interest here.... "Everything" would be emailed to support@makemkv.com , as noted in the FAQ.

MakeMKV says the rip matched the hash codes included on the BD, so the issue is most likely with your player. Does it support the audio type that you're trying to play?

Awesome news! You are correct. I used VLC to view the results of the Makemkv product, but I manage my files with INFUSE and KODI. I confirmed that MakeMKV was off the hook, via KODI and it played just fine. VLC seems to be a piece of crap. I might have to go back to Mediaplayer with an updated Codec. Any further suggestions? If not, thanks for your help. :D

I actually use VLC for determining things like audio tracks and subtitle order, but I rarely watch raw rips all the way through with it. EVERYTHING I do goes through handbrake on its way to the media server.

I had to stop using v2.2.x because it was highly unstable. I went back to 2.1.x so it at least didn't crash every time I ran it.
