What would you do if you got this on v1.9.8 [win(x86-release)]? Brand new disc:

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: bad track type
I have some new info. If I turn off all the subtitle tracks, the rip completes without error. If I turn on with the video only English DTS 5.1 Audio and PGS English (forced only) subtitles, I get this:
The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00040.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 188196864, attempting to work around

0 titles saved, 1 failed
And if I select with the video only "PGS English (forced only)" subtitles:
The source file '/BDMV/STREAM/00040.m2ts' is corrupt or invalid at offset 188196864, attempting to work around
DEBUG: Code 0 at "GN~=kV8Y0|'U@Gv$08H:121262647

So it looks like the problem has something to do with the subtitles. Ideally I would like to find a way to include the subtitles with the rip.
Any ideas?

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: bad track type
Well, it looks to be an issue with a bad spot on the disk, in an area that only affects a couple of the tracks within the title.
But only Mike can say for sure... We'll have to wait for him.

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: bad track type
Thanks. I appreciate the theory that there's a bad spot on the disc, but the things that bother me with that theory are:
1) The discs are brand new, and appear undamaged (8 of them).
2) Both part 1 and part 2 of the 7th film have exactly the same problem: the rip succeeds without error if I turn off subtitles.
That's why I think it would be odd if there were bad spots that just happened to be in subtitles, especially when the two discs that have the problem would have been authored at the same time and in the same way. The six earlier films are fine. It makes me think there's something in the inherent structure of these subtitles that confuses makeMKV.

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: bad track type
I can only offer the data point that at least one version of the 8-film BD set of Harry Potter (11-disk set put out by Warner Brothers in 2011) did not have this issue. That does not mean much nowadays, when you have 40 versions of a set of disks that has the same UPC number on it...
