Hi I am having an issue with several blu rays during the evaluation

Can you help? I have tried multiple blu ray drives and the disc is immaculate.

This is a troubling error message, and you are getting it a lot:

When told to seek to the beginning of a file, your drive can't find it.

This can be a disk issue (dirt, scratches, and some copy protection schemes that use fake titles can all do this), or it could be a drive issue.

Is it occurring on one specific disk, or several?

Sorry for the late reply, this is happening only on about 1 in 10 so far. I have two NEW external blu ray drives and it fails on both, also I don't see any marks on the disks.

Strange thing about the gosfather part 2 is that its part of a box set and parts 1 and 3 ripped ok, you would think they had the same copy protection?

Frankly, it's just as likely that they have manufacturing errors. When I bought the Hercules TV series set a couple of years ago, one disk wasn't rippable. Got the set replaced, same disk was unrippable. Finally rented that one disk... and it was barely rippable, after I dug out a portable DVD drive to do it. All three disks had the same manufacturing defect to one degree or another, but one drive was able to "see through it" well enough to rip the missing episode.

100% success with random disks is not a likely happening. I've had very good luck with LG drives, but others say LG suck. I also have a Samsung BD drive, and a Sony DVD.

Sometimes, the Sony is the only thing that can read a particular DVD, because it is "just" a DVD reader. BD drives can read DVDs most of the time, but not always. The difference in the laser color IS significant some times.
