Creating a .mkv Increases Audio Bitrates

Post by iRaul »

Hi.

Just inform possible error with Makemkv creating directly a .MKV. Lets try to explain it:

- If you rip a Bluray disc with the option "Backup", you get the FULL Bluray with this Media info:

Code: Select all

QUICK SUMMARY:

Disc Title: EL HUNDIMIENTO
Disc Size: 33.577.415.358 bytes
Protection: AACS
BD-Java: Yes
Playlist: 00000.MPLS
Size: 32.961.546.240 bytes
Length: 2:36:13.072
Total Bitrate: 28,13 Mbps
Video: MPEG-4 AVC Video / 25950 kbps / 1080p / 23,976 fps / 16:9 / High Profile 4.1
Audio: Spanish / Dolby Digital Audio / 5.1 / 48 kHz / 448 kbps / DN -4dB
Audio: German / Dolby Digital Audio / 5.1 / 48 kHz / 448 kbps / DN -4dB
Subtitle: Spanish / 19,282 kbps
Subtitle: Spanish / 0,257 kbps
Both audios in the FULL Bluray are at 448 Kbps.

- But if you select some titles of the bluray and choose the option of "Make a .mkv" you get this:

Image

Now, the audios are at 640 Kbps.

The correct bitrate of the audios is the first one (448kbps). Why, if you choose the option of "Make a .mkv" are there this increase in bitrate of audios?

Thanks for the time.

Regards.

What does your ripping profile have in it? Generally, MakeMKV won't change the track unless asked to.

If your profile says to change the AAC track to something else, it will use the settings in your profile to do so. It may be that you are having the "True HD" converted to something more universally supported.

Hi.

I havn't touched any of the "Advanced Options" of makemkv. I have got disabled that option. This is the problem, with the general configuration the bitrate of AC3 audios increases from 448Kbps to 640Kbps...

Thanks for the reply.

You're gonna have to give us more than that.

There are plenty of thing it could have been. You info from the play list doesn't mention how many m2ts files the movie is made out of.

Giving us the media info from the actual m2ts file/s would be more accurate.

Extract the audio with MKVExtract and see how big it is, remux the m2ts file/s with MKVMerge and look at the tags to see how big they are.

ie. give us more to work with.
