Non - Stop

#1 Post by ratty » Wed Oct 21, 2015 4:48 pm

Tried a few times but no joy. Same errors each time:

Saving 1 titles into directory //diskstation/video/MKV OCT
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:441E' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00000.m2ts' at offset '20025047040'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:441E' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00000.m2ts' at offset '20025047040'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:441E' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00000.m2ts' at offset '20025053184'
Failed to save title 0 to file //diskstation/video/MKV OCT/NON-STOP_t00.mkv
0 titles saved, 1 failed

Just trying 'Backup' now to see how that fares.

Unfortunately, searching for "HARDWARE ERROR:441E" on Google comes back to a post on this forum from 2011, which did not explain what the particular error IS. It may be specific to the drive you are using.

Do you have another drive available to rip with?

No hardware problem.

Just managed to MKV the disc using DVDFAB. Looks like MakeMKV has a problem so that was money well spent....not.

MakeMKV has a problem because it reported the error that your drive gave when asked to read the disk?

Have you checked that the DVDFAB file is correct? One of the "advantages" of DVDFAB is that it will skip over errors. The resulting MKV file may or may not be usable.

Just checked the file and it plays ok. DVDfab also created a perfect iso file for backup duties as well.

Strangely, Makemkv managed to backup the film with no errors so im convinced theres nothing wrong with the drive. Its the way Makemkv is interpreting the the error codes.

The only issue i currently have is the sound on the MKV file is way inferior to the iso file despite dts being selected on both versions.
