/download/old/ (where the old versions are normally kept) is currently off-line, because of a problem at the data center.
SCSI errors come from hardware. Unless the error says something about a key exchange, changing the version of MakeMKV isn't going to change your hardware.

The best way to know for sure is to get the error, then install an older version to see if you get the same error.
