The Condemned (2007) Blu-Ray

#1 Post by xahrekcahs » Sun Oct 04, 2015 6:07 pm

I have been unable to even get it to open the disc. It acts like a DVD that was recorded but never finalized. It starts to spin up and then everything greys out in MakeMKV. I have tried this on 3 different rigs. I am able to play the DVD in all of my Blu-ray players without a problem, but would like to add this to Plex. Anyone else run into this? It's a pretty obscure movie, but thought I would ask.

Thanks!

I am unable to even open the disc. It behaves like a recorded DVD that has not been finalized.

Can you browse the disk with Windows Explorer or Finder (you didn't say which operating system) ?

All the rigs I have tried it on are Win 10 and none will let me view content. I have tried in Explorer, Makemkv, Handbrake, AnyDVD, Fab, DVDShrink, DVDDecryptor, and others. But it will play on 3 different Sony, 3 different Samsung, and a Toshiba Blu-Ray player without issue. I have another BluRay that does this as well Napoleon Dynamite, but I have it in standard DVD format and that ripped ok.

Basically, I put the DVD in and try to open it in explorer and it seems like it is trying to read forever then fails. In Makemkv it will spin up like it typically does before you launch the sequence to open the disc. But before you get a chance it stop and grays out everything in the app. You either can eject the disc and the program will respond, or you can kill the program.

When playing it pops right up, no trouble reading, and I have watched the movie clear through without any stuttering, skipping, and the disc surface is flawless.

It is a Lionsgate DVD and I have read that their encryption software is pretty stiff, but I hadn't seen anything like this yet. Thank you for trying to help me out with this!
