MakeMKV 3D decryption

Post by solrac42 » Fri Sep 04, 2015 8:29 am

Can MakeMKV decrypt a 3D blu-ray disc to a 3D MKV file that can be stored on a flash drive and then played in 3D on a 3D TV from a USB port ?

I have tried this, but I cannot get the MKV file to work in 3D, it only appears to be in 2D.

By default, MakeMKV will ignore the MVC track within a 3D movie. If you want it, you need to click the little triangle next to the movie title in the left hand menu, then check the box next to the MVC track. It will then be copied into the MKV file with everything else.

Then it is up to your player to understand the MVC data... Not all players that support 3D and MKV support 3D in an MKV file.
