This usually means that you have a USB-powered drive, and it isn't getting enough power from the USB port. Make sure it is plugged into EITHER the computer (assuming desktop, rather than laptop) OR a hub that has its own external power supply.

If it isn't a USB-powered drive, something is causing it to disconnect from the computer during the rip.

maybe time for you to start emulating a player than trying to rip

yes it will take hours or days but the protection software will not see it as a ripping attempt.

003339:0000 Automatic SVQ downloading is disabled or failed.
You're runing a version that is 8 months old; is there a reason? Disabling automatic updates is a reasonable precaution against potential attacks, but sometimes it is necessary to turn them on when dealing with things like SVQ patches for some BDs. And to receive notifications of updates being available.

The errors obtained during this run indicate an actual unreadable section of the disk, rather than the drive disconnecting. Slowing the drive down won't fix that. Cleaning the disk might, if it is unreadable due to a fingerprint or minor scratch.

where does the SVQ files live? are they on the disk or in the os or does it have to access the internet?

i have a new bluray drive on order from macsales.com that is not usb powered rather has external 12 volt power supply.

also studios are constantly looking for ways to prevent copying the movies so that is why i suspected a protection though the title is 2007 witch may mean nothing since they often upgrade older titles with new protections when they print the next batch.

The master copies "live" on makemkv.com, but you can cache them locally.

In Preferences, General tab, you should have a data directory set up. MakeMKV uses it to store things like BD+ dumps, files for newly-discovered AACS versions, and cached SVQ files it downloads from internet. This tab also has the check box for allowing MakeMKV to contact the web server to see if there are new versions, and, if it encounters a disk it can't figure out, if there is a new SVQ file to handle it.

This part of the log shows that downloading SVQs is not an issue for this particular disk:
003326:0000 Processing BD+ code, please be patient - this may take up to few minutes
003324:0000 Processing BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
SVQ: generic005 builtin/00000.svq
003328:0000 BD+ code processed, got 1 FUT(s) for 1 clip(s)
You really only need to enable downloading if it says "No FUT", because the SVQs you already have covered what was needed.

Gee, your drive will ship from about 2 miles away from me...

i have seen the log say something like unable to down SVQ using built in SVQ witch suggests that it is trying to get the SVQ from the disk but since the file is reading as corrupt then it is using the SVQ built into the application.

update:

i got my new bluray drive from owc i still get unable to download svq so i decided to delete the contents of the /Users/username/.MakeMKV folder (invisible) makemkv asked for registration again but that's because the folder contains the registration.

now the disk is ripping ok so it looks like a corrupt file within the .makemkv folder.

Two things likely to prevent downloading SVQs. One is the setting in Preferences->General to allow checking server for updates, and the other is your firewall settings.
