I am ripping a DVD with the option to include the US English stereo audio track. When I go to play the movie using VLC however, I hear BOTH the dialog and a narration of what is happening on the screen: "Jones' eyes rapidly dart back and forth as he surveys the room...".
The only available English audio tracks shown in MakeMKV main window are English Stereo and English Surround Sound. The Surround Sound Track only plays some background sounds, neither the aforementioned narration nor the dialog.
Any advice?

Audio Problems
Re: Audio Problems
I've never heard of an audio track that plays only background sounds.
Music Track, yes, but background sounds seems kind of redundant.
Is it possible voices are in the centre channel and your setup is removing it?

Re: Audio Problems
The voices may well be in the center channel. That makes a lot of sense actually. But I'm not playing this through a surround sound system, just a PC, so I'm not sure what I need to do. I've looked at the audio playback options and don't see anything that looks promising.
GOT IT! RealTech audio was set for surround Sound for some reason. Changed that and everything is now fine.

Re: Audio Problems
It's a "visually impaired user" track, intended to make a video work more like an audio/radio drama. I've encountered it a few times. It actually has a politically-correct official name.
