Difference to dumphd?

#1 Post by johnny » Sun Mar 21, 2010 12:43 pm

Hi,
I am just testing the latest beta version of MakeMKV (on linux), so far it seems really great.
When checking the decrypted m2ts-files from makemkv and comparing them with the files I extracted with dumphd I recognized that they are not identical (all of them). Could someone explain this?
Is it possibly to let makemkv output the VUK of a disc or can I already see it somewhere?

Thanks in advance,
johnny

Each M2TS encrypted unit has header and payload with header having a flag "payload is encrypted". DumpHD decrypts the payload but forgets to remove "payload encrypted" flag. Most players ignore this flag. If you see any other differences, please post update here.

Wow, even AnyDVD seems to keep this flag then.
Thanks for the answer.

What is this difference exactly?
No bd on this disk just ACSS
File1 =Makemkv
File 2=Anydvd

Code: Select all

Name of first file to compare: C:\Users\XXXXX\Desktop\Test\backupt\cccccc\BDM
V\STREAM\00011.m2ts
Name of second file to compare: E:\BDMV\STREAM\00011.m2ts
Option:
Comparing C:\Users\XXXXX\Desktop\Test\backup\TcccT\BDMV\STREAM\00011.m2ts a
nd E:\BDMV\STREAM\00011.m2ts...

Compare error at OFFSET C0
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 180
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 240
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 300
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 3C0
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 480
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 540
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 600
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 6C0
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
Compare error at OFFSET 780
file1 = D1
file2 = 11
10 mismatches - ending compare

You may look at http://www.aacsla.com/specifications/AA ... _0.951.pdf , paragraph 3.10.2 .
