The volume key is unknown - video can't be decrypted
I am using makemkv 1.9.2 and i still can't decrypted a 2007 blu ray using aacs v3. can anyone help. fyi i am on a 2015 iMac and using a Asus blu ray player.

Thanks for your reply, i have tried to attach the log file but i get an error message "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." any other way to send you the log file?

"Sending" the log file should be via email to svq@makemkv.com so that Mike can have a look at it.
But you can click on the "Code" button above, and paste its contents (if it is less than about 60K) in between the tags that will appear, and we can see if anything obvious stands out.

The operating system reports a hardware problem. Whether it is an actual hardware problem (drive failure) or simply OS X having lost track of the hardware (it happens... OS X isn't immune to "forgetting" hardware), MakeMKV has no way to know. Interesting - searching for this error message comes up with a lot of unanswered questions over the last 9 years. Closest I saw to a suggestion on how to "fix" it was to unplug the drive from the USB port, then plug it back in. And the person that was told to try that didn't reply as to whether or not it worked. And this forum had a number of hits... but no answers, either.
When you start MakeMKV, what does it report as the highest AACS version seen? We know that v54 will cause drives to stop ripping BDs. Whether or not that would manifest as "HARDWARE ERROR:INTERNAL TARGET FAILURE" is unknown.

Thank you woodstock for you help. yes I unplugged the Player and powered it down, waited then powered it back up and plunged the usb3 cable back up to the computer. tested all the blu-rays i was having issues with and they all worked. hopefully this helps someone else in the future.

I had the same issue a few days ago and power cycling the drive was the first thing I tried but it didn't work so I just figured it was the disc I was using. Today I was having the same problem and I found this thread so I tried it again and now everything works again. I think the key is to follow the order described here. Unplug -> Power Off -> Power On -> Plug in.
