Mortdecai Playlist

Post by CraigChrist8239 » Sun May 10, 2015 5:53 pm

Well I opened up the Mortdecai BluRay and there are several hundred playlists... All the exact same size and length with different segment maps:

Does anyone have any idea which is the correct one? Normally when I have problems like this I put it in my BluRay player to get the proper length, but now I have no idea what to do.

This is just another of the titles where fake playlists are put in to confuse people.

You can search google for "bluray playlist obfuscation youtube" and find a video explaining how to use Process Monitor and PowerDVD to get the correct play list for the exact BD you have (they usually vary with where you bought the disks), or wait for someone else to do the same thing for you, and hope your disk is the same as theirs.

Ah thanks, definitely an interesting tut. I came up with 00433.mpls with segment map "511,508,506,520,502,512,513,514,518,501,510,505,509,517,516,507,519,504,503,515". This is on the rental version, not redbox though. I guess I know how to do it for all discs now, that's great. Thanks.

I have the canadian Blu-ray ( walmart ) edition ..

522 mpls , thats the most i've seen on any disc thus far .

Crazy to say the least , i'll run process monitor and see what my copy brings up as the correct playlist

I spent quite a bit of time stitching together the m2ts files from the possible playlists and eventually eliminated all but:
00433.mpls = 511,508,506,520,502,512,513,514,518,501,510,505,509,517,516,507,519,504,503,515

This is for the RedBox version as someone else I think mentioned, but I just found it a different way since I don't have PowerDVD or even Windows installed.

This is from the retail US disc with UPC 03139821744280

This segment map seems to match up with what everyone sees on the rental version. This does not sound right to me but I own the disc anyway so will give it a shot. I do not own powerdvd and I already own TMT but procmon causes it to crash.

FWIW - AnyDVDHD speedmenu feature brings up playlist 433 as the main movie.
