Cutting MKV

Sorry this isn't really MakeMKV related but is there a good free tool to cut a small section of an MKV file? I need to take a 3 minute clip from a 4.5 hour movie.

The standard tool for that (and much more) is MKVToolNix.

Search for mkvtoolnix. I think you can cut out sections using that.

Otherwise, a tool like Handbrake (handbrake.fr) can be used to transcode a subset of a movie, by chapter, time, or frame number range.
