MakeMKV isn't reading all files on my DVD?

Post by MsElektra » Sat Mar 28, 2015 12:54 am

Hi guys,

I'm trying to rip a 4 episode DVD that also has special features. When MakeMKV reads the disc, it recognizes exactly half of both: 2 episodes (each approx. 55-57m long) and 2 special feature videos (both under 20m). I've done this twice, and nothing changes. I know for a fact that there are four episodes. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Please turn on debug logging (link for this in my signature). It gives a lot more information than the standard, and saves it to disk so you can look at it (and post it when needed) later.

Probably, the features you are looking for are shorter than the 120 second default minimum. I have mine set at 30, because things shorter than that are usually parts of menus. You can change that in the Preferences, at the bottom of the first tab. You can set it when you go in to turn debugging on, in the General tab, and where you will also find "Expert mode", which you'll probably want to do within a few weeks.
