Jurassic Park III (disc label JURASSIC_PARK_III_DOM)

Post by greenbutton »

Latest version fails to copy the disk. Have tried multiple times, washed the disc... it doesn't LOOK like it's noticeably scratched... but the error is consistent.

Likely a scratched disc? Anything I can do?

Saving 1 titles into directory C:/BLURAY
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:NO SEEK COMPLETE' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '4141350912'
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:NO SEEK COMPLETE' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '4141350912'
Failed to save title 0 to file C:/BLURAY/Jurassic_Park_III_t00.mkv

thx for the help

With the error you're getting, here are the most likely causes:

1. Some distortion (dirt, scratch, finger print) making the track "disappear" as far as the drive is concerned. In other words, when the mechanism got to where the drive thought it was supposed to go, there was no track there, so the seek failed.

2. Disk was pressed poorly, so the track either isn't where it is supposed to be, or it isn't readable.

3. Something is preventing the drive from moving the head to where it should go.

Generally, the drive will have tried the seek several times before it reports an error. You'll hear a clicking from some drives as they move all the way back to "zero", in case the head wasn't where it was supposed to be at the start of the (relative) seek, and try again.

The test for 3 is to try ripping another disk that has as much data on it as the one that is failing; if all the seeks work (no errors), the drive can physically read where it's supposed to read, and it is the failing disk that is the problem.
