possible issue with drive

Post by superx » Thu Mar 12, 2015 11:56 pm

Weird issue with drive. Every movie I throw at it is fine. Reads and everything. Gone Girl is not even reading on the drive. I thought it was the disc but I exchanged it, and still will not even read.

Comes up as there is nothing in the drive.

Is this a drive issue? Maybe something needs to be updated on my drive?

here is the spec. Should I update the firmware?

OS device name: \Device\CdRom1
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE WH14NS40
Revision: 1.01
Firmware date: 2113-04-04 23:25:
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 50

The drive you have is in the same series as I own (I also have a 12 and 16). The firmware should not be an issue.

However, have you reset the computer since you first had the problem? By "every movie", were you talking DVDs, BDs, or a mix?

When you insert the disk with debug logging turned on, are there any error messages in MakeMKV?
