Grimm Season 3 Blu-Ray Disc Error

Hi!

I've tried to rip the "Grimm season 3" blu-ray, but when the selceted parts are ripped, the are only playable for some minutes untill the playback stops. Every file is only playable until a special point where the video stops playing. sound plays fine and will go on playing.

I used makemkv 1.9.0. Any ideas?

What playback device/software? You may be encountering "Cinavia watermark protection". http://makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1846

Software players like VLC ignore Cinavia, so playing the files with VLC should confirm if it is the file that is a problem or copy protection.

VLC does NOT work too, so it seems that it is not the copyprotection.

Do a backup and see how many M2TS files each episode is made up of. See if each M2TS file will play in VLC on it's own.

10 Minutes working and then VLC stops playing.

Debug logs from the rip of the disk would help. Usually, they'll have the clues to why the playback is not working.

The " NOT READY:MEDIUM NOT PRESENT - TRAY OPEN " errors in the middle of things are a bit confusing.

In this case, Mike will have to interpret the debug codes. They show where things were not as expected, and various work-arounds were applied to make sense of the data.

For me it is very strange that remuxing to MKVs via DVDFab is running without any problems ... The MKVs are running smoothly ...

Is there a solution to this issue. I see exactly the same. Ripping the BD seems to be ok but files are way to small. While in VLC the duration is e.g. 53 minutes, after 15 minutes picture freezes. So it seems that MakeMKV does not do a correct job.
Solution? Other "free" or inexpensive tools than work on Grimm BD?
