The Beaver wont rip

#1 Post by Nuttson » Tue Feb 17, 2015 5:35 pm

Hey there,
unless this picture is a few days old, exactly from 2011, it won´t backup because of SCSI errors while reading the BDMV stream.

This is what i get:

Code: Select all

MakeMKV v1.9.1 linux(x64-release) gestartet
Anything we can do about it? The disc itself is perfectly ok and has absolutely no scratch at all.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, your drive does not agree with your assessment that the disk is "perfectly ok" - it can't read parts of it.

If cleaning it does not help, SOMETIMES increasing the number of retries in the Preferences->IO menu can help, and sometimes using a different drive will work (I have 4 different BD and 2 DVD drives between my ripping computers), because the laser can have slightly different alignment between drives.

I have made an .ISO with dd. How can i mount the .ISO with Linux so that Makemkv can open it as it as a disc?

You should be able to have MakeMKV open the ISO file directly, without mounting it.

If you really want to mount it, search for "mounting loopback linux" for instructions on how to mount a file using the loopback mechanism.
