Has anyone been able to get usable subtitles out of MakeMKV? I've made sure to flag both the forced and regular subtitles when starting the rip. I do see messages during rip about the forced subtitle tracks being empty and skipped which I thought was odd. However, neither VLC or Handbrake seem to be able to use any of the subtitle tracks. VLC does say it sees the tracks, but they do not display when I select them. Handbrake doesn't even seem to see the tracks at all. Any help would be appreciated because for . Cheers,

As you state, this is really an issue of the likes of VLC not supporting the BlueRay subtitle format yet. In the meantime there is a manual workaround:
