Gone Girl - No FUTs

#1 Post by quark » Sun Jan 18, 2015 3:11 am

I have latest 1.9.0 and web download of SVQ turned on, but still get no FUTs and blocky video. Sent dump file in email.

Using direct disc access mode
Loaded 72 SVQ file(s)
Processing BD+ code, please be patient - this may take up to few minutes
Processing BD+ code using generic SVQ from builtin/00000.svq
Saved BD+ dump file as /home/michael/.MakeMKV/dump_Gone_Girl_BBE3F5FF5574046E.tgz

Since you've sent the file to Mike, try the rip again in a couple of days. Once Mike generates an SVQ file, it will simply start working.

If he needs additional information, he'll contact you.

I sent the relevant files to Mike last week. Within a few hours, he'd updated the SVQs and I was able to rip the BD.

Has the OP got automatic updates on?

I ran into the same problem and for some reason the makemkv.com site was down yesterday when I was trying to do it. I fired up AnyDVD (normally a no-no) and used MakeMKV to rip it. Worked fine without all of the blockiness.

Just a thought for situations like this. You should be able to get a free trial of AnyDVD if need be if you ever have a situation like that. I've only had to use AnyDVD 3 times for things like this, and that was just because I was too impatient to either wait for the updates, or like this time the site was down and I just took matters into my own hands. Otherwise MakeMKV has a great track record. Thanks for uploading the logs so that it can be resolved for others.

If you have automatic updates enabled in your configuration ("Allow contacting web server for updates" is checked on the General tab of preferences), AND your firewall doesn't prevent the contact, any new SVQ files will be downloaded automatically.

If you want to make sure he has the best information possible, send the TGZ file mentioned in your logs to svq@makemkv.com when you get a chance.

I'm not sure if this is related, but I'm having problems ripping Gone Girl.

Code: Select all

Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:NO SEEK COMPLETE' occurred while reading 'BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ262 1000' at offset '3448240128'
At the start of the rip, then it bombs out about 55% in (about an hour later)

This error sounds like either a bad disc or a bad drive, but it's the first time I've seen this error, and I've not had a problem ripping any of the other discs that arrived in the mail today.

Is there any chance this is a copy protection technique to screw up BR data drives, like the awful Copy-Control for audio CDs? I'm guessing it could be a defective disc, I'll try it in my PS3 later but was wondering if maybe this is something stranger.

It is possible that the disk contains references to locations not on the disk, but not as likely as there simply being a problem with an unreadable spot, OR the drive can't reach where it needs to read.

I'd suggest making sure the drive is clean, carefully blowing any dust out of it.

How does MakeMKV show the disk when you first insert it, i.e., "single layer", "double layer", etc.?

Hey there,
i have strange artefact's after ripping the film and i got a warning about some FUT´s :?:

Im using version 1.9.1 and automatic updates are enabled.

Any chance that this is "normal" with the recent version, and an update is coming soon?
If it should be already fixed then how to create a log and send it over?

Greetings!

I've sent the dump file but had no response yet. I've just tried and am still getting the no FUT's error and the resulting file had very bad video errors (blocky). This is the only disc I am getting these errors with and presume it is because it is so new?

Thanks

Gold? I only rip the main film and 1 audio track, I have however tried all different approaches with no luck :(
