Everyone,
I use makemkv to rip my blu-ray collection. Is it safe to multitask while its ripping a disc? Will it affect quality at all and is there error correction for such things? I'd like to be able to browse the internet and play some games while its ripping if possible. Thanks.

Multitasking while using makemkv?
Re: Multitasking while using makemkv?
Yes, it is safe to multitask. I often run at least one instance of MakeMKV while Handbrake (which can max out CPU usage all by itself) is running. And I've run two instances of MakeMKV at the same time with no noticeable slowdown. Browsing internet is NOT going to be a factor!
The limitation is how fast your drive can send data to the computer, and how fast your computer can write that out to the file system... and the "write to file system" is often the limiting factor. One of my ripping computers has only a 2-core Celeron processor, and can still do a BD and a DVD at the same time, at 8-16X speeds.
