Hi,
I am trying to rip a blu ray of How to Train your dragon 2 and I got the below error. I have done some searching of these forums and they suggest that the disc must be damaged? However I have tried the disc in blu ray player and it plays absolutely fine.
If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.
Thanks!

Hopw to train your dragon 2
Re: Hopw to train your dragon 2
The errors say that your drive can't read the disk. In this case, the first thing I'd do is try cleaning your DRIVE, but the disk may be damaged.
"Plays absolutely fine" in a BD player means very little - BD players are programmed to skip over errors, and you'll only notice a video or audio glitch, if you're paying attention.

Re: How to train your dragon 2
Hi,
Thanks for the answer. I will give the drive a clean and see how it goes.
If this doesnt work I realise that suggests that the disc is damaged, is there anyway to get the software to skip over these errors and see what it produces? I dont think that I can return the disc as if it was tested on a blu ray player then it would look fine to their eyes and so I wouldnt get very far...
Cheers!

MakeMKV won't skip bad spots. I've heard of some utilities that will, but I don't have any (other than "dd" on Linux) that do that.

Could Make MKV be updated with an option that when there's an error like this you have the option to quit or to put in some data to fill in the missing info (this could be black screen, silence or just holding a few frames of picture maybe). Make MKV knows how much data is missing or can't be read so it could fill in the gaps - if the error is small it might be preferable to buying a new disc?
Re: Hopw to train your dragon 2
Such an option kind of defeats the purpose of a program intended to give you a bit-for-bit copy of what's on the disk, doesn't it?
