About 5 minutes into ripping all progress stopped and I received the following message in the MKV main window:
"Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/0001. m2ts' at offset '2784755712'
Can anyone advise whether this is a problem with the disc itself, or is it some other issue? Thanks
Blu-ray error on Atlas Shrugged Part III, gold edition
Re: Blu-ray error on Atlas Shrugged Part III, gold edition
The error is the drive saying it can't read part of the disk. What you can do depends upon a lot of things.
Are you doing a Backup, or opening the disk to save the individual tracks as MKV files?
If the disk is new, getting it replaced would HOPEFULLY eliminate the possibility of a scratched disk, but it could be as simple as a poorly-placed fingerprint, and cleaning the disk is all you need to do.

Woodstock, Thanks for your reply.
To answer your question, I was not doing a backup, I was opening the disk to save as MKV files.
The disk is brand new with no visible marks, fingerprints, or scratches of any kind. Just looking at it, it appears to be perfect. I made several attempts but got the same error message every time, even after carefully cleaning the disk. Based on your advice, I would assume the disk itself is defective. I will try to get it replaced.
