Fatal error occured, programm will now exit-windows 7 64bit

I installed makemkv 1.4.12 and opened it straight away from the installer and it worked fine, I stopped it opening a bluray disk half way through, as wanted to check what the output folder was, now everytime I try and open makemkv I get the above message. I've tried re-installing numerous times with reboots in between. It seems somethings got currupted or the uninstall isn't removing everything, any suggestions.

What happens if you right click on MakeMKV icon and select "run as administrator" ?

Same error. I tried that with and without when installing also. It looks like it doesnt quite unistall properly...is there some files I should try and remove manually and/or registery settings? It's weird because it worked the first time I ran the program

Please try to run a command-line version and see what happens:

I tried re-running with a dvd in the drive and it came up with a plethora of details about the dvd. So it looks like the command line version works

I suppose I could just use the command line version but when you run it with info option, it doesnt give enough information about each title compared to the gui version e.g. how many chapters, is there a way of getting more info?

Has anyone found a solution to this issue. I removed my codec pack - Shark007 - and things started to work again. However, I am not sure what has started to conflict after version 1.4.12. Is there any logs that might show what is conflicting with the Makemkv gui ? has anyone else found a solution to this problem?

I currently have Shark007 Windows 7 Codecs 2.4.1 (32bit) with x64 components version 2.4.7 - I am going to try the newer version today.

I have had this issue since installing 1.4.12.

version 1.4.11 worked when it was still available.


I really like your program and if I can get this work again, you can have my money for sure.

Yes, I have installed/reinstalled. rebooted ..Tried with different users on the same machine. Tried starting as Admin and User. Still failing.

I really really want this to work.
