I have an external Blu-ray player/burner on Firewire (iMac). The system sees the drive and discs on it ok, but it looks like MakeMKV doesn't see the drive (but it will see the iMac's internal DVD drive).
Anyone know if there is some limitation that prevents MakeMKV from seeing an external Blu-ray drive connected via Firewire?

No, it should work. Please enable debug messages in preferences, and post the error messages here (if any)
