I tested various blu-rays with LPCM audio, and since MakeMKV 1.9.0, it mixes the center channel to the left channel. It also sounds like other channels may be assigned incorrectly as well when using the LPCM track. I'm just curious if the bug has already been detected and if there's a fix coming.
Thanks.
LPCM Has Wrong Channel Assignments - MakeMKV 1.9.0
Re: LPCM Has Wrong Channel Assignments - MakeMKV 1.9.0
Are you sure you've got the profile outputting to WavEx and not Raw PCM (or copy)?

It's set to LPCM audio in WAV container with channel configuration metadata (Lossless conversion). I'm going to try the FLAC profile and see if it works.ndjamena wrote:Are you sure you've got the profile outputting to WavEx and not Raw PCM (or copy)?
UPDATE: FLAC encodes properly with the correct channels. So it's just limited to LPCM. Interesting.
Re: LPCM Has Wrong Channel Assignments - MakeMKV 1.9.0
After looking at the MKVs, even though the profile is suppose to save as Wavex, it looks like the audio is being saved as RAW. Is the default profile using RAW instead of Wavex?
Re: LPCM Has Wrong Channel Assignments - MakeMKV 1.9.0
I just ripped POTC with the default profile and MKVMerge is telling me the codec is A_MS/ACM, which is the correct codec.
Are you sure you're not using another profile? What are you playing it with?
-edit- And apparently setting it to "copy" saves it as A_MS/ACM too. That's a relief.
