Problems ripping Star Trek TNG Season 1 Disc 1

#1 Post by DVDave » Sat Nov 29, 2014 12:54 am

I am continuously having errors trying to rip disc 1 of ST:TNG season 1. Titles fail and are skipped and when I tried creating a backup it always fails. I have had no other problems with any of the other discs. I am using the latest version 1.9.0

MakeMKV v1.9.0 darwin(x86-release) started
Optical drive "BD-ROM HL-DT-ST DVDRWBD CT30N A100d" opened in OS access mode.
Backing up disc into folder "/Users/Movies"
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:NO SEEK COMPLETE' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00002.m2ts' at offset '3694264320'
Backup failed
Backing up disc into folder "/backup/STAR TREK TNG S1 D1"
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
Backup failed

My disc works fine, I don't think that the international versions are that different.

It's most likely a bad disc or a bad drive or possibly that disc and that drive just happen to bring out the worst in each other.

You could try using a different drive. That's about all I can think of.

It's definitely not the drive. Have absolutely no problems ripping other discs. Could be the disc. It's one that I got the replacement from CBS because of incorrectly encoded audio. Odd that it will not read the disc though as it plays just fine in my other BD players. Perhaps the AACS is unable to decrypt?
