BD+ code processed but no FUTs were obtained, errors may fol

#1 Post by matt198t » Sun Nov 02, 2014 12:11 pm

Hi I am trying to rip my copy of The Simpsons Season 15 Blu-ray but get the following dialogue box when trying to open the disc in makemkv (doesn't matter whether it's disc 1, 2 or 3)

'BD+ code processed but no FUTs were obtained, errors may follow'

A list of titles does come up but they all subsequently fail.

Incidently, I have ripped with success season's 13, 14 and 16 (all on blu-ray) but 15 is giving me this problem.

Please help :(

-------------------
MakeMKV v1.8.14 win(x64-release) started
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded 64 SVQ file(s)
Processing BD+ code, please be patient - this may take up to few minutes
Processing BD+ code using disc-specific SVQ from builtin/dsall.svq
Saved BD+ dump file as C:\Users\Matt/.MakeMKV/dump_The_Simpsons_The_Complete_Fifteenth_Season_Disc_3_0AC5B5626F953C88.tgz

Btw I cannot find ^ this ^ dump file even though it says it has been saved :s

Code: Select all

Saved BD+ dump file as C:\Users\Matt/.MakeMKV/dump_The_Simpsons_The_Complete_Fifteenth_Season_Disc_3_0AC5B5626F953C88.tgz
Change all "/" to "\" when dealing with Windows, and you should find the file. However, you WILL need to tell Windows Explorer to let you "hidden" files. The actual path is:

C:\Users\Matt\.MakeMKV\dump_The_Simpsons_The_Complete_Fifteenth_Season_Disc_3_0AC5B5626F953C88.tgz

Typically in Explorer, if you have "view tree" turned on, you can also see "Matt" as a directory under "Desktop", just below "Library". The ".MakeMKV" directory would be toward the top of the Matt directory.

After you find it, email that file to support@makemkv.com so that Mike can create an SVQ file for it.

thanks for the reply Woodstock

I have found the folder but the dump file is not in there just a load of .svq files and 3 unrelated .tgz files.

I have turned on 'Hidden items' in Explorer (Win 8.1 btw) and nothing. A search on C: drive for *.tgz doesn't bring the file up either.

I'm stumped :s

Mike says there is a problem with v1.8.14 and some disks, which could be what is coming into play here. You could try this disk with 1.8.13 if you still have it.

I have installed 1.8.13 and can confirm there is no dialog box pop up and the titles seem to be ripping fine. Is there any drawback to using this old version to rip? I always prefer to use the latest version.

Will there be a fix in the next version? If so I will wait.

Thanks

Great program guys/Mike, keep up the good work!

The version history page does not show much that would trouble MY use, but I don't know about yours...

Mike says "in a few days" the .15 update will be out, but that was a few days ago...

Thanks for clarifying that this is a known issue. It occurs on three of the four disks in the Forever Marilyn BD box set too - all except Some Like It Hot.

I will wait for 1.8.15 since I have other BDs to work my way through.

I have the same error message come up while ripping Lets Be Cops ....

Once you click OK on the error message the disc seems to continue opening with all files present ..

What are FUT's and what errors maybe expected on the ripped files ?

There is actually a FAQ for FUTs and BD+... http://www.makemkv.com/svq/

BD+ creates "fix up tables" (FUTs) for deliberate errors introduced into the video stream to frustrate pirates (and users) who do not use officially-sanctioned players. MakeMKV interprets the BD+ code to create the FUTs needed to fix the stream as it transfers it. No FUTs, you get distortions in the video.

So I wonder if I reverted to an earlier version if I might succeed with The Seven Year Itch and Octopussy both of which failed after showing that 'BD+ code processed but no FUTs were obtained, errors may follow' box? The versions I have were released in 2012. And if so any idea which earlier MakeMKV version to try?

Yes, definitely try 1.8.13 on it. If you do not still have the install file, you can get it from here:

I just tried ripping the same Blu-ray (Simpsons Season 15) and encountered the same "no FUTs" error, which caused 7 of the 8 titles I attempted to rip from disc 1 to fail. I can confirm that reverting to 1.8.13 gets around this issue, and I have successfully ripped discs 1 & 2 so far.

I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I am happy to confirm that 1.9.0 successfully read the BD+ disks that had confused 1.8.14.

I see a "BD+ code processed, got 1 FUT(s) for 1 clip(s)" and the track listing is presented as expected. Thanks Mike.

Hi,

i just picked up Night at the Museum "Secret of the Tomb" and tried to use MakeMKV version 1.9.1 win64-release
and it keeps failing. When i try to load the Disk it gives me the following error.
"BD+ code processed but no FUTs where obtained, errors may follow"

When i say makeMKV it completes but the content is frequently scrambled.

Below is the output of the logwindow

The log doesn't say it failed, but... Have you sent the file generated (path highlighted in RED above) to svq@makemkv.com for analysis yet?
