Should MakeMKV automatically use the disk volume name in the file name, such as My_Favorite_Movie_t01.mkv all the time?
Sometimes, its default to title01.mkv.
I have found that if it starts with title00 and I change the Disk Name property, it will switch the [disk name]_t01 format.
I would like it to always use the [disk name]_t01 without intervention.
Really, I'm having trouble figuring out the exact behavior pattern and would like to know if I'm doing something wrong or there's a setting somewhere I'm missing, or if that's just how it works.
Here's a sequence I can use to repro:
1. Insert DVD, let MakeMKV finish the scan, Disk Name property will be MY_FAVORITE_MOVIE
2. Press Make MKV button, MakeMKV will begin to write out a file named title01.mkv
3. Cancel the process.
4. Change MY_FAVORITE_MOVIE to MY_FAVORITE_MOVIe (lower case e).
5. Press Make MKV button, MakeMKV will begin to write out a file names MY_FAVORITE_MOVIe_t01.mkv
Sorry about the long post, trying to be as specific about the situation as possible.
Disk Volume Name in File Name
Re: Disk Volume Name in File Name
Are you aware of the "Advanced" menu (enabled by checking "Expert mode" in the General tab of settings), which will allow you to set file names before creating the MKV files? You can set the Name, File name, and other data about a title when you are in Expert mode.

Re: Disk Volume Name in File Name
Thanks for the reply! Yes, I am aware of the Expert Mode by that's not the behavior I'm asking about. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
I'm asking about the default naming behavior where sometimes MakeMKV defaults to "title01.mkv" and sometimes [Disk Name]_t01.mkv.
I prefer [Disk Name]_t01.mkv, but it's inconsistent.
As noted, I can make it use [Disk Name]_t01.mkv by editing the Disk Name property to any different value. I would like the app to always use [Disk Name]_t01.mkv.

Ah, yes, that would be nice, but... not every disk has a disk name.

Re: Disk Volume Name in File Name
All the disk I have tried have volume names. Again, sorry if I'm not being clear.
I am asking about the default naming behavior where MakeMKV sometimes uses "title01.mkv" and sometimes [Disk Name]_t01.mkv.
Is there a way to always have it use [Disk Name]_t01.mkv?
