Transformers Age of Extinction

Post by Garmon » Fri Sep 19, 2014 2:34 pm

MakeMKV is unable to recognize the TrueHD Atmos track. It sees the standard AC3 sub-track, just not the main.

As this is the first disc with an Atmos track this is not unexpected. Just a heads up.

Seeing the same results... Having problem with other demux'ing tools trying to get this track extracted. Would love to see an updated version supporting the Atmos extension.

Same here. If anyone figures out the correct tool to get the TrueHD track extracted, give us a heads up.

Thanks

I was just coming to report the same problem. It doesn't recognize the ATMOS audio track or the TrueHD audio track

I was able to extract the track using tsMuxeR and integrate it into the mkv file with MKVToolnix. VLC is mute on the track, MPC-HC just freezes. When passing the audio directly to my receiver via XBMC the movie is also mute until I switch over to the standard DD track. I get similar results playing the m2ts file directly. I guess we get to wait until EVERYONE updates their software to recognize Atmos tracks.

Which sucks, as plain DD sounds like ass when compared to TrueHD or even plain DTS. I would watch a 720 file with a DTS track before I would watch 1080p with DD only....

If anyone has any ideas on how to tweak the ac3 file in order to get the TrueHD track to pass-through. Please post here.

I don't know if your player supports ISO files directly, but my WDTV plays it just fine. Shows it's playing the TrueHD track. I had to do it this way until MakeMKV gets updated. It's not ideal of course, because I'd love to strip out the foreign languages, but it'll do just fine for now. Been watching it the last hour or so without problems

Apparently, last night's nightly build of MPC-HC updated with the latest LAV filters and will now support TrueHD streams with a Dolby Atmos substream. I haven't updated yet to test this out so I can't confirm it'll work.

Scroll to the bottom.

Just got back home and checked my rip and encode from earlier. I had to use tsMuxeR as well to demux the THD track since MakeMKV couldn't see it, then mux it back with my final encoded video stream, and after installing last night's build of MPC-HC and disabling the external LAV audio filter, the THD track played just fine.

Anyone knows if the new version v1.8.13 solved the problem and can now see TrueHD and Atmos?

Because I downloaded it and opened Transformers: Age of Extinction, but still TrueHD or Atmos do not show.

Only the DD5.1 shows?

Same for me, makemkv does not show the HD audio tracks, only DD. I am assuming makemkv will be updated at some point to correct this so I will keep an eye on this thread for a fix.

DeMuxing etc. is way over my head. I need easy.

I installed the latest version of MakeMKV, ver. 1.8.14......I get a Fatal Error when I try to rip Transformers- Age of Extinction.......It gets past the decryption stage, but when it gets to the processing titles stage, it hangs and eventually I get a "Fatal Error-Program will now Exit" message and then the program closes.......this is what I get as far as debug messages....

I've ripped Transformers Age of Extinction, and MakeMKV was able to recognize the Atmos / True HD file. However, whenever I play the TrueHD file there is no sound. I've got to switch to DD 5.1 sound file to get any sound.

Here's the Mediainfo information:

Most open-source software can't process TrueHD with Atmos data. Even latest released version ffmpeg can't, you need to recompile ffmpeg from current snapshot in order to decode TrueHD tracks with Atmos data.

How do I do that?

On Linux, you must compile with the latest ffmpeg from snapshot in order to get Atmos support. Building MakeMKV with latest released ffmpeg will not work.
