MakeMKV BETA popup: Application failed to initialize .. help

Post by perttiesimerkki »

I downloaded and installed the MakeMKV yesterday, copied one DVDmovie successfully to my harddrive and closed the program.

And now, for some reason, I cant open the MakeMKV program.

I always get fail-info-box MakeMKV BETA popup: Application failed to initialize

And of course, I uninstalled & reinstalled the program, but the same happens again.

Hopefully someone can help me, I had positive experience while using the program, and would like to use it in the future.

Why are you installing the old version? It had a very nasty bug related to certain audio tracks found on some Bluray disks.

"Failed to initialize" has several possibilities. One is that you have files from different versions mixed in the same installation. Under Windows, this can happen if you click "Continue" on the INSTALL before the UNINSTALL of the old version has completed.

Easiest way to eliminate that problem - Uninstall MakeMKV. Verify that all the files are gone. Then install the current version (1.8.13 right now) for your operating system.

The other files you listed are older versions of the program for Mac OSX and Linux.
