DTS Decoding Error

#1 Post by gekado » Sun Aug 31, 2014 12:53 pm

Ripping of a Bluray "Kristy" (german version) is working fine.
But the conversion of the audio track to flac crashes. (Conversion to aac crashes also.)
It seems to be a problem of decoding the DTS HD audio track.
Here is the Log:

Have you ripped DTS-HD before? Do you have the Arcsoft DTS Decoder installed?

[[[ "PCM->FLAC" could this be my fault!!!! :o ]]]

I've been thinking:

1: If you're using 1.8.11 and that DTS-HD track is in fact DTS-HD LBR 1.8.11 could not rip most LBR tracks
2: Not knowing which DTS-HD variant you have, it's possible your DTS Decoder version is too old. Most versions you find on the net are 1.0.0.1, but apparently you need at least version 1.0.0.5 to be able to properly rip all forms of DTS-HD (or at least that's what I seem to recall MakeMKV telling me).

Wow, you 're super fast.
But unfortunately converting to flac still does not work. :(
(log see below.)

By the way. The DTS HD stream seems to be intact. Leaving the dts hd stream as it is and playing it on vlc or a samsung player is working fine.
(I only need a conversion to flac for a new panasonic player ...)

Hope you can help! :P

I installed a dtsdecoderdll.dll some times ago. I don't know if it is from ARCSOFT or Windows, but it thought, this wouldn't matter. Right?

Hmm. ARCSOFT is a Windows application. I 'm using OS X.
I thought, you only have to reference a DTSEncoder-DLL because of a license issue.

By the way: Reading a DTS audio track and converting it to flac works fine with most blurays.
Just converting the bluray mentioned above raises an error. So I 'm quite convinced that it is an error in MKV.

I still hope this is going to be fixed.

When i reported a few 7.1 DTS-HD to FLAC conversion problems in 1.8.11 and 1.8.12, MKVsupport replied stating that you need to be using at least dtsdecoderdll.dll version 1.1.0.9.

PM me if you want a copy of dtsdecoderdll.dll version 1.1.0.9.
