Locke on Bluray AACS V48: makemkv doesn't support v48 yet

Post by jmhumphrey » Fri Aug 22, 2014 11:12 am

Update:

It's AACS V48, which MakeMKV does not support yet.
----------

Latest makemkv gets stuck on 'Decrypting':

002010:0000 Optical drive "BD-RE ATAPI eHBU312 2 VL12d" opened in OS access mode.
003007:0000 Using direct disc access mode

And that's where is stays. No other notes in log apart from those above.
UK release.

When you got the report, did you click on the link in the status window, to submit information to Mike?

No. There was no link. I now assume that a wait 'till V48 is supported is needed.

Should be able to get the link to reappear by putting the offending disk in and trying to rip it again.

Someone else already reported an AACS48 disk a couple of days ago, but getting data from more than one source probably helps Mike get the change done quicker.

It looks like Mike changed things, so it doesn't put the link up every time. But, the content that Mike needs should still be available on your drive.

Start MakeMKV. Click on Tools, then go to the General tab. There should be a "MakeMKV data directory" box, with a path in it. In that directory, you should find files that start with "MKB_v", such as "MKB_v47_TO_LOVE_RU_DARKNESS.tgz". The one that starts with MKV_v48 should be forwarded to Mike at support@makemkv.com.

I know makemkv is still beta, but assuming it is WIP I wonder if it would be possible to get an early access version with support for AACS_V48? Of course I would post the result.

If there was a dump .tgz, submit it /svq/. I don't know if it will help support AACS v 48 any faster, but you might as well submit it.
