Hey Guys,
I've just started using makemkv and have come across a problem. I only want to keep the hd audio on my files, so I select th HDaudio in makemkv and no other audio but when the mkv file is made only dolby digital or dts is present and not the HD audio which is the only audio i selected??
What am I doing wrong?
Any help greatly appreciated
Cheers

how do i do that?

The reason you were being asked about the media info is that a lot of people find out that MakeMKV put EXACTLY what was requested into the MKV file, but they have a player that cannot handle that audio stream in an MKV file.
Which would be quite consistent with "and it happens with EVERY bluray disc I have with HD audio!"

You can not select only HD since DTS is embedded in DTS-HD and DD in DD True HD. So you will always have both.
You can show the Mediainfo using MediaInfo

Have it scan a file that you think is bad.
Under the View menu, select Text, and copy the information. Paste said information in a post here.

This is not accurate. I routinely (well, not anymore since FLAC transcoding was introduced) rip just the HD audio. All one need do is uncheck the box beside the standard DTS (the "core") or Dolby Digital stream.pumple wrote:You can not select only HD since DTS is embedded in DTS-HD and DD in DD True HD. And, FWIW, only DTS requires a standard core to maintain backward compatibility; Dolby Laboratories, in their infinite wisdom, decided that TrueHD could be exclusively HD--meaning that these audio streams will not work on older equipment (although this was only used for HD DVD; Blu-ray spec requires requires an AC3 "core" to be mixed into the TrueHD stream).
