When I load Avatar Collectors Extended Edition, I see three titles representing the movie:
title 05: The Extended Edition - 72 Chapters
title 06: The Theatrical Release - 57 Chapters
title 18: The Collectors Extended Edition - 73 Chapters
The problem is, in each case the number of chapters is wrong, compared with the chapters I see when I watch the movie in a commercial Blu-ray player.
It should be:
title 05: The Extended Edition - 40 Chapters
title 06: The Theatrical Release - 35 Chapters
title 18: The Collectors Extended Edition - 42 Chapters
Why would MakeMKV pull the wrong chapter information?
Avatar Collectors Edition - extracts wrong chapter info
Re: Avatar Collectors Edition - extracts wrong chapter info
According to the ChapterDB.org there are 73 chapters in Avatar: Extended Edition
http://chapterdb.org/browse/7257
Those chapters were pulled by ChapterGrabber, not MakeMKV.

Re: Avatar Collectors Edition - extracts wrong chapter info
So, just to get this clear: someone ran ChapterGrabber and posted the details to chapterdb.org, then MakeMKV simply looks up that information?
In other words, to fix this, I need to download and run ChapterGrabber myself and post the results to chapterdb.org?
Please excuse my ignorance!
EDIT: I paid a visit to chapterdb.org, and it was quite an eye-opener. Dozens of incomplete and incorrect postings for the film Avatar. I managed to find one good chapter set for the Collectors Extended Edition, but nothing at all for the ordinary Extended Edition. I would download ChapterGrabber myself, but unfortunately it's for Windows only.

Re: Avatar Collectors Edition - extracts wrong chapter info
MakeMKV gets it's chapter data directly from the disc, ChapterGrabber get's it's information directly from the disc. Two different programs got 73 chapters from the same disc, the chapters are sequential and seem to add up. A third program looks at the disc and decides there's 42 chapters. Are you really, really sure that it's MakeMKV that's getting the chapters wrong?
-Edit- Where are you getting these 'chapters' from, the menus or the actual play timeline?

(The chapters on the ChapterDB.org website were retrieved using ChapterGrabber)
