My recently-installed copy of MakeMKV has been acting very odd lately. It's failed to create several MKVs from some already-decrypted BD rips I'm simply trying to mux from my hard drive. The error log is showing this:
LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
So far, I've received this on Minority Report and Predators. The strange thing is, other BD rips are muxing fine, with no problems at all, and playback fine (i.e., Kick-Ass, Scott Pilgrim, The Book Of Eli, Toy Story 3 and others).
On all of these I'm ripping the discs to my hard drive using DVDFab, then pointing MakeMKV at the index.bdmv file. I'm trying to keep all English audio tracks (including lossless DTS-HD Master) and English subs. Sometimes "blank" sub files are being ripped, but MakeMKV automatically discards those when it's able to successfully create the file.
I did manage to get Inception to work by selecting the DTS 5.1 lossy audio track instead of the DTS-HD lossless. I thought this was very strange since all of the MKVs I've been successful in creating were all done with the DTS-HD Master audio fully intact - even Toy Story 3, which has a DTS-HD Master 7.1 mix. However, nothing I've tried with Minority Report has worked.
I've wound up creating an .iso for it, but I'd prefer an .mkv, if possible. Any thoughts?

Your log shows a very incompatible H.264 stream. By all means try to open original disc - I'm curious whether it's a problem with a disc or a bad rip.

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
Thanks for the reply, Mike. I finally had time to try and re-rip Minority Report today, and I was finally successful in using MakeMKV to mux the already-decrypted copy from my hard drive, including lossless audio.
The only difference this time - instead of using DVDFab to decrypt, I used AnyDVD HD and copied the entire Blu-ray file structure to my hard drive first, then pointed MakeMKV at the index.bdmv file. Worked perfectly.
I'll give MakeMKV's own decrypting ability a test soon, but I'm glad to see that its muxing function appears to be solid.

Re: LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
I just had the same problem with a new Blu-Ray i ordered. It was possible to rip the title by selecting only the DTS core track (deselecting the DTS HD parent), but i could not get MakeMKV to rip the DTS HD track. I experimented a bit with AnyDVD HD and DVDFab, and DVDFab managed to go through with the rip, however the resulting MKV had broken sound so it was almost unplayable.
The real problem turned out to be a Mastering Error on the DTS HD track. I just got an e-mail from the distributor saying that this problem existed in the entire batch, and they will replace the disc!
