Hello,
I installed Make MKV today and I am having trouble ripping a Blu-Ray of our wedding using Mac OS X 10.9.2. I have successfully backed up other blu-ray discs, but not one made by a videographer. When I try to load the disc I see the following message:
MakeMKV v1.8.10 darwin(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as /Users/jeffcurtis/MakeMKV_log.txt
Optical drive "BD-ROM HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW CT30F YT04d" opened in OS access mode.

Then I just went ahead and tried to backup the disc and received this (decryption removal not checked):

Can't read AACS VID from disc - most likely current AACS host certificate is revoked by your drive
DEBUG: Code 0 at q%Ycvs(qOO3|X#j:29394114
Content hash table missing, unable to verify integrity of M2TS files.
The back up of the disc is made to my iMac but I cannot use it since it just copies the blu-ray files over as they are and does not make any files I can use. Since I MakeMKV displays the failed to open disc message, I never get the option to create an MKV.
Any ideas?
Failed to open disc - Version 1.8.10 - Help???
Re: Failed to open disc - Version 1.8.10 - Help???
Is it copy protected? You could try using MKVMerge on the .mpls or m2ts files directly. I doubt there would be anything on the disc that would complicate things.
Re: Failed to open disc - Version 1.8.10 - Help???
If you have already tried carefully cleaning the disc, you might want to try an old version (1.8.7) of MakeMKV as some of the more recent changes have had disruptive consequences on some discs.
Re: Failed to open disc - Version 1.8.10 - Help???
Mike has said there is a bug that is triggered by a disk NOT having certain directories that "all" commercial disks have. Going back to an older version works around that bug.
