New to the program, have issues with two DVDs

I've successfully made a file from one DVD but when I tried to make a file from Man of Steel and Sherlock Holmes Game of Shadows the program never saw the movie from either disc. I've done some looking and most people say to go back to version 1.8.7 however I'm not ready to pay for the program since I've only made one good file. Version 1.8.7 won't run without a key. What are my options to either test the old version of fix the beta version?

That message is updated periodically with the new key. You MAY have to set your computer date back when you start the program to get it to start and accept the new key.... I bought a key, so I haven't had to do that for a while, and don't know if Mike fixed that issue.
