does makemkv retain audio delay on blu-ray disc?

I read on another forum that some blu-ray discs have a built-in audio delay, and that sometimes when people make encodes to mkv they don't retain the audio delay properly, depending on the software they use, causing a/v sync issues.

This got me wondering if makemkv handles any audio delays automatically when ripping to mkv. Is there any truth to this, that some blu-rays have audio delays? If so, keeping makemkv in default simple mode, will makemkv retain any necessary delays to keep everything in sync?

I have seen some mkvs out there (not made with makemkv) that do seem to have sync issues, where I need to adjust my media player or a/v receiver to compensate. So I'm just asking so I understand about this with makemkv.

It will normally hide those messages, though, unless you tell it to show them.
