Downton Abbey Season 4

Post by Agathe » Wed Mar 19, 2014 1:08 pm

I cannot make an MKV of this DVD. One of the file is saved but the other 2 have failed.

I get the Error 'Scsi error - Medium error:L-EC Uncorrectable error' occurred while reading '/Video_TS/VTS_141.VOB' at offset '16625664'

The drive says it can't read part of the disk. First steps are cleaning the disk and trying again.

I tried what you suggested with no luck. The first disc I got the following: MakeMKV v1.8.9 win(x64-release) started
Error 'Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:COPY PROTECTION KEY EXCHANGE FAILURE - KEY NOT PRESENT' occurred while issuing SCSI command AD0..0020804C0 to device 'SPTI:\Device\CdRom1'
Drive BD-RE HL-DT-ST BD-RE BE14NU40 1.00 has RPC protection that can not be bypassed. Change drive region or update drive firmware from http://tdb.rpc1.org. Errors likely to follow.
Using direct disc access mode
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_05_1.VOB' at offset '30720'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_05_1.VOB' at offset '30720'
IFO file for VTS #5 is corrupt, VOB file must be scanned. This may take very long time, please be patient.
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_06_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_06_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_07_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_07_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_08_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_08_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_09_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_09_1.VOB' at offset '0'
Error 'Scsi error - HARDWARE ERROR:3EFF' occurred while reading '/VIDEO_TS/VTS_10_1.VOB' at offset '0'

Check to see if there was any firmware or software update but there was nothing. My player was up to date.

The other disc said "No disc".

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Try resetting the computer. The computer is now not talking to the drive consistently. It could be that the drive is actually failing, but I've seen this sort of behavior on my system in other programs, and a reset fixes it. Not just a reboot; shut it down, then turn it back on.

Anyone find a workaround for the failure to rip Downton Abbey Season 4?
I have the "Masterpiece| Carnival | Original UK Edition" DVD that is failing to rip in a region 1 LG Blu Ray drive.

Edit: Ugh. Spelling.
