Region 2

Hello -- I been ripping Region 1 DVD -- can makemkv rip a region 2 dvd? -- If so, would this reset any info in the dvd hardware?

In most cases, MakeMKV will rip R2 just fine in a drive set to R1. It brute-forces the decryption key to do so.

I have used it to rip R2 disks (Blake's 7 imported from Germany), and none of my drives even have a region set (regular DVD software tells me I need to chose a region, but I just don't use that software anymore). Occasionally, MakeMKV tells me the drives have RPC issues that can't be corrected, but then goes right ahead and corrects them.
