Star Wars 2 - Attack of the Clones

#1 Post by RangerDave » Wed Jan 29, 2014 1:09 am

I have successfully copied all the other Start Wars movies, but this one fails with the errors shown below. I tried several different titles and made sure the disk was clean. Any ideas how to get this one to work?

Error "Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '115644489984'

Error "Scsi error - NOT READY: CANNOT READ MEDIUM - INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '11561859072'

Error "Scsi error - ILLEGAL REQUEST:ILLEGAL MODE FOR THIS TRACK' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00800.m2ts' at offset '11561859072'

If you've cleaned the disk, and none of the other disks fail, it is likely a disk problem. Scratches can do this, as can a poorly-mastered disk.

Is the disk new, where you can get it exchanged for another (preferably not from the same pressing)?

Thanks. It is a library copy, and there is one small diagonal scratch. I was hoping that this would have no effect. However, know the data density is so high on bluray, this may be enough to cause a problem. A player might be able to work around, but this software may be extremely sensitive to it.

What I use to clean disks is Pledge Furniture Polish (pump-spray bottle, not the aerosol). It's a water-soluble wax and cleaner, and the wax fills in MINOR scratches well enough to rip. I do it a lot when I need to rip a disk the relatives have borrowed and returned "just like they borrowed it". Yeah, right...
