Blu-Ray problems

#1 Post by dolphan » Mon Jan 20, 2014 2:51 am

Hello,

I am receiving the following log:

Saving 1 titles into directory /Volumes/iTunes Main/hunger
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00450.m2ts' at offset '1516044288'

Failed to save title 0 to file /Volumes/iTunes Main/hunger/The_Hunger_Games_t00.mkv

This is common to now 5 separate blu-rays; similar issue. Can anyone advise?

Thanks

Make sure your USB port has sufficient power for the drive - many don't. They'll work at low speed, but throw errors when MakeMKV tries to take them up to full read speed.

On the Mac, those errors sometimes look like network errors.

The actual error shown is the operating system saying the drive could not read part of the disk. This can be because of dirt, scratches, badly-pressed disk, or sometimes an error in the alignment of the laser mechanism (usually shows up a lots of DIFFERENT places).

Cleaning the disk is the first step.

Thanks so much Woodstock - the Disc is clean - already troubleshot that.

Is there any way to limit the output of the drive so it doesn't blow up? Or is the external basically limited for high density rips?

Thanks in advance!

Hello all,

Yes I just got the same error on a brand new BluRay that I cleaned and left spotless. I am trying a different disc to see if I get the issue again.
