blu ray disk refuses to mount

i dont know if this is the right place to post so you mods are welcome to move to the correct place

i have the movie collision earth on blu ray and the disk will not mount.

the drive attempts to read then ejects the disk.

is this a new copy protection designed to prevent ripping by force ejecting the disk (i have seen this on a cd once back in the sony rootkit days).

no mounting in the finder on mac osx.

i tried on another mac and the same thing.

i tried on a windows pc and the same thing.

i am using a sata blu ray drive pulled from a broken laptop using a usb/sata bridge board pulled from a flood ruined blu ray slim line drive.

you probably will be tempted to say that 1 or both of those may be at fault but other bluray disks work ok just not collision earth.

the problem is it will not even get to the place where i can start a backup.

while this problem is before the involvement of makemkv maybe others had this problem with some movies and can tell me if it is a copy protection or bad disk.

Launch MakeMKV first, and then insert the disc. If it is ejected then your disc is physically unreadable. Otherwise MakeMKV should open it.
