Hash check errors?

#1 Post by mstg2000 » Tue Dec 31, 2013 5:15 am

Hash check failed for file /BDMV/STREAM/00001.m2ts at offset 2407655424, file is corrupt.
Too many hash check errors in file /BDMV/STREAM/00001.m2ts.

I've been recieving this error on every bluray i've tried tonight
No issues with dvd's though..

DVD 's don't provide hash files! Also, Yes, seems like your drive has died.

I have been getting this error message quite a bit recently as well, although my backups appear to finish fine so I have not really been worried. What else could be causing this message besides the possibility of a dead/dying drive?

BTW, although I know it doesn't really matter, my drive is only about 6 months old, so I hope it is not actually dying!

A bug in MakeMKV - you will get 100% hashcheck errors on certain (newer) drive-disc combinations. Will be obviously fixed in the next version. So you should either get a zero or 100% - anything else really means an error.
